THE LOVE THAT TRAILS ME

I saw her first and looked down,
She saw me and looked on,
I thought I was dreaming,
This African woman was not just beautiful,
She was overly beautiful.
Her eyes looked at me and I thought they saw,
They saw deep into my heart,
Into my elated spirit.
In fact I lost myself into her world,
And by the time she opened to say her name,
I thought I knew it already.
The lips sparked not out of imagination,
But by reality of her natural beauty,
And I could follow them,
Whenever they opened to talk,
They were simply sweet.
Words flowed freely from her mouth,
The mouth to me looked like a well Out of which was drawn love,
And the relish of words,
Made me like her more And I thought her love,
Trailed me since then.
Few days gone and still I remember,
The very venom that she stuck me with,
The very fragile figure that stood before me,
Until I am still “imagining” to this day.
It is hard to know who trails the other,
The love or me? though am sure of one,
That we are at least friends,
And that the friendship is moving on well,
And that finally it leads me somewhere.
