Fashion Trends for Men in 2022

Now and again, we will find ourselves in a position where we are expected to offer some advice in terms of grooming. It could be a friend who asks us what to wear for their upcoming interview or the best-fitting match for their date.

And because we human beings don’t seem to have enough guts to turn down what we don’t know, we resort to the experts for that moment. But have you ever realized that sometimes you advise someone on what to wear and after they are gone you realize it was all flop?

The next thing that comes to mind is to avoid them because they will be somehow pointing their fingers at you for failing them. Fortunately, some of us men follow our guts rather than what we deem fashionable or okay before others.

It may be stupid, but my rule of grooming is that I will be comfortable in the clothing first above everything. Nevertheless, this year we can be fashionable as men at least for science if not for grooming. For that matter, let’s see what we can do to achieve that.

Bags

There has been a rising need for men to carry bags around. We are in an age where you don’t have to be walking with that big wallet in your pocket with a string of keys aligned in your pocket. In other words, we men have things to carry and for that matter, we need to carry a bag from time to time.

This year you can get yourself a lovely tote bag. Alternatively what you need is a sizeable messenger or duffel bag to be stacking your documents around when you go to the office or when you have to carry a few necessities for your day out.

The flat cap

This year, I would encourage men to add the flat cap to their wardrobes. I know some of us dread the idea of caps but it can be a great adornment once in a while. The flat cap however seems not to lose its touch as far as male fashion is concerned.

Ensure you wear it with a full suit or pair it with a good blazer and trousers.

Turtle neck suits

I have observed that towards the last quarter of 2021, this trend became more pronounced. It is one of those cool trends that have been around for some time now. Ensure that you get a sleek suit to go along with the turtle neck shirts. However, it is a trend that goes well with the cold weather.

The denim shirts

This is a cool one. It is not about to go anywhere anytime soon. The denim shirt is a great fashion trend for men in 2022. Depending on the colour shade of your shirt, ensure you pair it well with matching trousers and you can give it a trench coat finish.

An example can be the blue denim shirt worn with plain dark blue khaki trousers or even a material fabric one.

 Then there are the double trouble suits

These suits have gained a lot of traction in the recent past. Nowadays the difference is not the color of the suit but rather the make of the suit. There are the men with the normal suits and there are the men with the double trouble suits. This is a great year to add one to your wardrobe. Add a great shirt and tie to it and you will have saved yourself that sleek look once in a blue moon.

Patchwork coats

Somewhat unnormal locally is the patchwork coats. They can be an excellent fashion for men this year as long as care will be taken to match it with a simple and smart outfit. They are a great fit for casual wear often paired with a tote bag and where fully knit can go very well with official wear.

We are gaining momentum into the new year. It is time to start thinking seriously about grooming. Maybe you are like me who cares very little about what everyone else thinks save for what I think of myself. Yet still, I am beginning to change that because if I am thinking of anything for myself, It better be nothing but the best.
