2021 Chapter Closed and 2022 Chapter Opened.

2021 Chapter Closed and 2022 Chapter Opened.

By the time you will read this, it would be 2022 already. It is most likely that some of you will read this piece before 12:00 midnight yet for you information, it would already be 2022 and only you will still be in 2021. Confused? Worry not.

According to what I read in the Bible, which we will take as the authority for now and given the fact that a number of us subscribe to the sola scriptura concept, a day runs from evening and not necessarily midnight. Even here means sunset.

God in Genesis 1 during creation used the words, “so the evening and the morning were the first day.” Running the cycle means a complete day is simply two parts; evening to morning as night and morning to evening as the daytime. So, the 31st morning to even is the last day time and last part of day in general for 2021.

By sunset 31st, of course there are issues with the calendar but I will not divulge into that for today, it means we are fully in 2022. The supper at close of day 31st is the first meal of 2022 and not the so-called breakfast which undisputedly is the first breakfast of 2022 but a second meal of 2022.

And as such, we bade bye to 2021. It has been an excellent year. If curfews and lockdowns were the big issues of 2020, 2021 gave us the freedom once again albeit the pandemic. We don’t take that lightly by any chance and means.

I began reading my last and first book of 2021 and 2022 respectively titled, “who will cry when you die,” by Robin Sharma today. Beginning to read that book means I am still alive and that is a big deal. A lot of people we know have died and their chapters closed in the year 2021. Ought you not to be grateful as you have a chance to open a new chapter of 2022?

As you open it, make sure you live in such a way that when you die, someone will cry. We are all born crying while the world rejoices. The chance we have been given to end the year and start another one should help us touch as many lives as possible for when we die, we leave a crying people as we in our death ‘rejoice’ of a life well lived.

The year 2021 perhaps didn’t work well for you. Don’t worry, you tried your best. Somehow still, it feels as though it was not enough. You now have a chance to do an audit on why you did not do you very best and ensure you bridge that gap this new year.

Did you live a life full of gratefulness and thanksgiving? If you did, keep up at it in the new year still. Begin by counting your blessings first before you rant about your problems. In the journey of life, success is all about attitude. You change your attitude and you begin changing the world.

Fear is with each and everyone of us. How you react to the fear determines a lot about your life. In 2022, conquer you fear. Remember also that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% percent how you react to it. Be braced for a life of confidence and moving beyond your fears for the new year.

You have already endured enough to make you ready to face 2022. In the past year and years gone, you have had broken relationships, endured joblessness, endured the loss of loved ones, sailed through a broke period, faced an intense period of stress and depression and you are here today.

Whatever you did then to be here, do it even more. Probably you held up to hope, and to hope I ask you to hold up to even the more. Maybe your strong family ties came to your aid, strengthen them even the further for the new year.

A lot of us will say that it was simply God. And to that God I ask of you to strongly cling to. I was challenged at the last day of 2021 to have one key goal for 2022 and as such I would live a rich and fulfilling life. And that is, to be more like Jesus and to be more and more close to God.

Not a bad resolution huh? Well, it depends on which point of view we look at it from. Yet for 2022, share more with others, inspire as many people as you can more than you did in 2021 and live true to the dictates of your faith, beliefs and convictions.

From all of us here at the Daily Focus, we wish you a happy, blessed and prosperous year 2022.

Be more like Jesus in 2022.
